Toon Hub is a subscription-based comics platform, and we want the only thing keeping our users hooked to be the stories — not endless bugs.
We’re looking for a QA Engineer who sees quality not as a checklist before release, but as a personal responsibility.
You’ll be responsible for product quality across all stages — from dev to prod, expanding automated test coverage, and directly influencing the experience our users get.
We value people who don’t just find bugs, but understand how those bugs impact the user experience, ask uncomfortable questions, propose solutions, and are not afraid to stand up for quality.
- 4+ years of experience testing web products, including 2+ years of commercial test automation experience.
- Experience writing and maintaining automated tests in TypeScript with Playwright. You will own the tests yourself, while DevOps can assist with CI setup. You may use AI, but you should understand and be able to explain every line of your code.
- Experience with or a strong understanding of user funnels and their automation.
- Experience testing payments and subscriptions, including recurring payments, upgrades, cancellations, refunds, and webhooks.
- Experience testing analytics and tracking: validating events in DevTools and within tools such as Amplitude, Meta Events Manager, and GA4, as well as checking marketing parameters.
- Experience creating or generating test flows and test cases for individual tasks.
- SQL skills sufficient to independently validate data in PostgreSQL.
- Experience testing REST APIs using Postman and Swagger.
- Understanding of caching and CDNs — including why an issue may affect one user but not another.
- Mobile testing experience: iOS Safari, Android Chrome, and in-app browsers.
- Experience using AI tools in QA for areas such as checklist creation and review, with a clear understanding of what the tools are doing and how they improve quality and efficiency.
- Experience working in a fast release cycle with several releases per week.
- Strong attention to detail and product thinking: you understand how a bug impacts revenue and users, prioritize accordingly, and suggest improvements instead of simply creating tickets.
- Release gate. Run regression testing of release candidates on staging, execute automated tests, and verify production after deployment. You decide whether a release is ready and have the authority to stop it.
- Payments and subscriptions. Test purchases, upgrades, renewals, cancellations, refunds, card payments, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, etc.
- Tracking and analytics. Validate events in Amplitude, GA4 and GTM, Meta Pixel and server-side events, Snapchat, as well as attribution and its persistence throughout the funnel. Verify event delivery both through custom logs and third-party tools.
- Automation. Expand the existing automated test suite with a strong focus on revenue-critical flows: registration across all versions, purchases, access provisioning, purchase events, etc. The goal is to cover 80% of key flows and run them on every release.
- Manual feature testing. Every task in the “In Test” stage should be checked against requirements, Definition of Done, and edge cases. Most of our users come from mobile devices and in-app browsers such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, so these environments are a key part of testing.
- API and data testing. Test REST APIs using Postman or Swagger and run PostgreSQL queries to verify that data is stored and processed correctly.
- Bug reporting and triage. Create clear bug reports in Jira, including environment, device, reproduction steps, video, severity, and a link to the task that introduced the issue. Participate in a short weekly review of bugs that reached production: why they were missed and what test should prevent them in the future.
- Documentation. Maintain regression suites, test cases, and checklists that are easy to update rather than rewrite after every product change.
- Real impact: if an idea makes sense for the business, it can quickly move into implementation.
- A low-bureaucracy team with direct communication with PMs, Product, and Engineering.
- Full-time, remote work.
- Salary based on your experience and expectations.
- Paid vacation. Public holidays are days off.
- Opportunity to grow together with the product and the team.
- Benefits: English language courses or health insurance.
